Breakin the Fever voted FLGR "Horse of the Year"

Breakin the Fever was named 2015 Finger Lakes (FLGR) “Horse of the Year” at the annual FLGR Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association awards dinner on Saturday. The 3-year-old New York-bred owned and trained by Debra Breed won six of his eight FLGR starts this year.

Mecke's Madalyn wins final stake of Finger Lakes meet

Mecke’s Madalyn rallied to win the second renewal of the $50,000 Shesastonecoldfox Stakes on Friday at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack. The talented filly owned by Sinatra Thoroughbred Racing took the feature event for New York-bred 2-year-old fillies in a six furlong time of 1:13.44.

Finger Lakes participants in Retired Racehorse Makeover Competition

Numerous thoroughbreds that were recently retired from competition at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack participated in the Retired Racehorse Project  in Lexington, Kentucky. The event was sponsored by Thoroughbred Charities of America and took place from October 23-25.

Literacy Volunteers of Ontario-Yates wins 2015 Charity Cup

A day of celebration and recognition of area charitable organizations came to a close today at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack with the Literacy Volunteers of Ontario-Yates, Inc. taking the top donation prize of $10,000 in the fifth annual Charity Cup this afternoon. A total of $30,000 was offered by FLGR in support of the participating organizations.
