Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR) employees Kimberly Allen and Ken Miles, won parent company, Delaware North’s, first ever Innovation Challenge. The competition challenged the company’s global workforce to collaborate with colleagues from a different operating company and bring forth an innovative concept. The concepts, which were required to impact the entire company, required a thorough business plan and were vetted through the company’s senior leadership team.

Fox Rules named 2014 Horse of the Year

Fox Rules was named 2014 Finger Lakes (FLGR) “Horse of the Year” at the annual FLGR Horsemen's Benevolent and Protective Association awards dinner on Saturday. The 5-year-old New York-bred owned by Langpap Stables won all three of his FLGR starts this year.

Ferraro saddles 3,000th winner

Trainer Michael S. Ferraro notched his 3000th career win at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack (F.L.G.R.) on Wednesday, November 12.  He reached the milestone when Sweet Sweet Afleet scored a two and three-quarter length victory in the eighth race under jockey David Lopez.

Crackerjack Jones Breaks Track Record

Crackerjack Jones scored his third consecutive victory in a track record time at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racetrack on Wednesday. The Christopher Progno-trainee won the eighth race by six and one-half lengths in a one mile and one-quarter time of 2:05.10.

Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program Receives Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA) Accreditation

Finger Lakes Thoroughbred Adoption Program (FLTAP) became accredited this week with the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (TAA). The nationally recognized accreditation status was earned through an intensive application and review process including onsite assessment by TAA inspectors and independent veterinarians. The accreditation is granted to organizations that show their dedication to retirement, retraining and rehoming of off-track Thoroughbreds.

Craig Morgan Performs at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack

Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack hosted country musician Craig Morgan last night at Remedy, a feature bar and entertainment venue located inside the gaming facility. The performance, which was held in honor of the Veterans Outreach Center (VOC), was co-hosted by local radio station WBEE, part of Entercom Radio Group, and was sponsored by Motovate Performance. Fans from all over Western New York attended the free performance which was opened up by Dave McGrath, a well-known local musician. more >
