FARMINGTON, N.Y.?–?Jockey David M. Lopez recorded the 1000th win of his career at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR) on Wednesday, August 17. He reached the milestone when Baime scored a three and one-half length victory in the eighth race.

Lopez began his career in 2005 at Arlington Park. He earned his first victory aboard Livinonaprayer at Hawthorne Park.

The 35-year-old from San Diego, California has a total of eight lifetime stakes victories. Six of the triumphs were recorded in Canada at Assiniboia Downs.

Lopez reached the significant win mark with his 7,334th lifetime mount. He became the second FLGR jockey to be recognized for hitting the 1,000 win milestone this season. Michael Davila reached the mark on Monday, July 18.

Lopez registered 346 of his 1,000 victories at FLGR. He is currently eighth in the 2016 local rider standings with 30 wins.
