FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Dugout won the $200,288 New York Breeders’ Futurity at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR) on Saturday. The talented colt took the rich stake for New York-bred 2-year-olds in a final six furlong time of 1:10.66.

The $271,423 earner owned by Richard Ravin, Patricia’s Hope and trainer Larry Rivelli remained undefeated with the three length triumph. He was guided to his third consecutive victory by Jose Valdivia, Jr.

Dugout scored his second stakes win and paid $2.80, $2.20 and $2.10. True Gold was second and returned $2.70 and $2.10. La Fuerza was third and paid $2.10.

Piermarini 2500th

FLGR jockey Tammi Piermarini recorded the 2500th win of her career at Delaware Park on Saturday. She reached the milestone when Dr. Blarney scored a three-quarter length victory in the fifth race.

Piermarini is the third woman to reach the 2,500 lifetime mark. Only Julie Krone and Rosemary Homeister have more victories than Piermarini.

The 51-year-old has a total of 28 lifetime stakes victories. She has been a regular rider at FLGR the last two years.

The 19th running of the $50,000 Arctic Queen Stakes is the next big race on the 2018 FLGR stakes calendar. Eight older New York-bred fillies and mares are entered in the six furlong dash scheduled for Monday, October 1.

The Arctic Queen Stakes is slated as the seventh race of the eight race card. Post time for Monday’s first race is set at 1:10 pm.
