FARMINGTON, N.Y. – 2-year-old New York-bred fillies are scheduled to compete in the final stakes race of the season at Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR).

The sixth renewal of the $50,000 Shesastonecoldfox stakes is slated for Monday. The six furlong dash is the fourth race of the nine race card.

Two of the five 2-year-old New York-bred fillies entered are from the barn of trainer Chris Progno, Rush On By and Spin a Yarn each will be making their second start after achieving multiple length victories in their respective career debuts.

Rush On By dominated her competition by 13 lengths at FLGR on October 8. She was guided to the gate-to-wire triumph by leading FLGR jockey Jaime Rodriguez. The talented filly will again be under the guidance of Rodriguez and is listed as the 7-5 morning line favorite.

Spin a Yarn recorded an equally impressive 12 and one-half length triumph at FLGR on September 23. Oscar Gomez was aboard for the convincing win.

Gomez has enjoyed recent success that has ascended him to third in the local 2019 FLGR jockey standings. He registered five wins during an 8-rece card on on October 14.

Chris Progno will be vying for his first FLGR stakes victory. Progno does have a prior stakes triumph on his career resume. He won the $100,000 H.B.P.A. Stakes at Presque Isle Downs with Rollicking Affair on September 26, 2009.

Single Verse will return to FLGR after a maiden victory at Belmont Park on October 4. The Bruce Brown-trainee finished second in the $108,775 Lady Fingers Stakes on September 8 in her previous FLGR visit. She will be under the direction of Dylan Davis.

The $50,000 Shesastnecoldfox is the final stakes event of the 2019 FLGR live thoroughbred racing season. Post time for Monday’s first race is set at 1:10 p.m.
