Campaign part of parent company Delaware North’s expansion of USO fundraising partnership to regional gaming venues and continuation of campaign at U.S. airport location.
FARMINGTON, N.Y. - Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack (FLGR) today launched a fundraising campaign to benefit the United Service Organizations (USO), a non-profit organization that supports service members and military families via programming, centers and airport locations around the world.

The campaign is part of FLGR’s parent company Delaware North’s expansion of its partnership with the USO to 10 of the company’s gaming destinations across the United States. In addition, Delaware North announced that it is continuing its national fundraising campaign for the USO throughout 2019 at more than 200 airport dining locations that the company operates at 18 U.S. airports. That campaign has raised more than $467,000 for the USO since it launched in May 2018.

All proceeds of Delaware North’s campaigns are provided to the USO.

“Delaware North has been a tremendous military supporter and USO partner, and we thank their team and their patrons for their generosity,” said Lisa Anastasi, USO chief development and marketing officer. “Expanding their campaign with the addition of gaming locations provides more opportunities for guests to give a little extra, and in return helps to make a big impact in strengthening our service members and military families.”

The campaign at Finger Lakes will entail a call for donations through two methods. While making purchases at Finger Lakes food venues, guests can “round up” to the nearest dollar amount – with the extra funds going to the USO. Guests can also donate at all points of sale in $1, $3 or $5 increments.

“The USO has a very important mission to help our country’s servicemen and servicewomen, so we are proud to participate in this fundraising effort,” said Chris Riegle, President and General Manager of FLGR. “We know that our patrons will recognize the hard work the USO does for military members and their families and join us with generous support.”

The campaign will continue until the end of the year at FLGR and the following other Delaware North gaming locations: Daytona Beach Racing & Card Club (Daytona Beach, Fla.); Hamburg Gaming (operated for the Erie County Agricultural Society at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg, N.Y.); Jake’s 58 Casino Hotel (Islandia, N.Y.); Jumer’s Casino & Hotel (Rock Island, Ill.); Mardi Gras Casino & Resort (Nitro, W.Va.); Miami Valley Gaming (a joint venture with Churchill Downs Inc. in Lebanon, Ohio); Orange City Racing & Card Club (Orange City, Fla.); Southland Casino Racing (West Memphis, Ark.); and Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack (Wheeling, W.Va.).

Delaware North’s campaigns directly support the USO’s mission to strengthen America's military service members by keeping them connected to family, home and country throughout their service to the nation. In 2018, the USO recorded more than 12 million acts of service, entertained more than 83,000 military men and women through USO entertainment tours and served more than 3.9 million location-based program participants. The USO also provided 8,455 Action Plans for transitioning service members through its USO Pathfinder® program.
