Finger Lakes Weekly Update
A look back and ahead…
Clean Jean visited the winners circle for the tenth time this year when she earned a two length victory in Tuesday’s third race under jockey Dean Frates. With the successful performance, the 4-year-old filly is now the 2012 top horse in North America in the category of wins. The $124,149 earner covered the one mile and one-sixteenth distance in a final time of 1:47.42. She was claimed on May 1 by trainer Sal Iorio, Jr.  for a tag of $4,000. The chestnut New York-bred also hit the board in two stakes races since moving to the barn of Iorio. She finished third in the $50,000 Susan B. Anthony Handicap on June 9 and was also third in the $50,000 Jack Betta Be Rite Handicap on September 15. Eight of her ten triumphs were achieved at Finger Lakes.
