Free Summer Concert Series Kicks Off Wednesday, June 27
FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Finger Lakes Casino & Racetrack will be “shakin” along with Eddie Money on Wednesday evening, June 27 to kick off the Free Summer Concert Series.
Eddie Money, born Edward Joseph Mahoney, initially attended the New York Police Academy with intent to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a New York City Police Officer. Money’s growing interest with the world of rock and roll clashed with the authoritative structure of the Academy, and Money found himself longing to become a rock musician. Deciding to try a career in music, Money relocated to the San Francisco Bay area. In 1977, he released his self-titled debut album, and became almost an instant star. With four platinum and two gold albums to date, Money has had 24 hits on Top 100 Billboard charts including “Baby Hold On”, “Shakin”, and “Take Me Home Tonight”.
All concerts are free to attend and will be held outdoors with seating available in the covered Grandstand. Doors will open at 6:30pm and opening act, Paradoxx, takes the stage beginning at 7pm. Parking is free, however tailgating is prohibited.
In addition, Finger Lakes will once again open its Tailgate Zone from 4 - 6:30 p.m. prior to the concert. Tailgate Zone attendees can enjoy an all-you-can-eat cookout, live entertainment from local bands and other activities. As a bonus, Tailgate Zone attendees are also admitted to the concert area prior to the general public. Admission to the Tailgate Zone is $10 and is paid upon entry. Outside food and beverages will be prohibited.
