Classy filly is entered in the eighth race on Friday
FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Lisa’s Booby Trap has been entered to run at Finger Lakes Casino and
Racetrack on Friday. The popular filly with a blind left eye, will compete in the eighth race for owner
and trainer Timothy Snyder.
The bay Florida-bred has received national media attention after her rise from obscurity. Snyder purchased the horse for only $4,500 and has turned down offers that have been rumored to be as much as $500,000.
The 3-year-old filly will run on the dirt in an allowance contest at Finger Lakes after failing to fire in a one mile turf event at Saratoga on September 2. She had won four consecutive races by a total of 42 and three quarter lengths before the last place finish in the $70,000 Riskaverse Stakes.
"She worked with toe grabs on the turf", said Snyder. "She raced without them and slipped all over the place."
Her next start was expected to be in the $750,000 Cotillion Stakes at Philadelphia Park on October 2. However, Snyder opted to run her in a race at “the thumb” as a way to prep her for the future event.
"I was going to bring her to Finger Lakes and work her anyway", said Snyder. "I decided to run her if Friday’s race would go."
Oscar Gomez is listed to ride the $75,940 earner in the five and one-half furlong race on Friday.
Gomez replaces hall of fame jockey Kent Desormeaux who has been sidelined with an injury. Desormeaux guided Lisa’s Booby Trap to a six length triumph in the $70,000 Loudonville Stakes at Saratoga on August 6.
A total of six female horses are entered in Friday’s feature. First race post time is set at 12:35 p.m.
