Earns popular gate-to-wire victory over Tequila Hero
FARMINGTON, N.Y. – Saint Arthur was a popular winner of the $50,000 Ontario County Stakes at Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack on Saturday. The Carlos Martin-trainee took the 29th renewal of the dash for New York-bred 3-year-olds in gate-to-wire fashion.

The bay ridgling owned by Crown Stable turned the table on the colt who defeated him in the $126,825 Aspirant Stakes last year. Tequila Hero beat him by the same margin in the rich 2-year-old race in 2012.

"We are thrilled to get our first stakes win here at Finger Lakes," said Tom Qualtarze of Crown Stable after the race.

Saint Arthur was guided to the six furlong triumph in a final time of 1:12.28. He recorded his second victory in his seventh lifetime start and paid $4.10, $2.50 and $2.10. Tequila Hero rallied to be second and returned $2.70 and $2.20. Cajun Best was third and paid $2.50.

The $50,000 Niagara Stakes is the next stake scheduled to be run at Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack. The annual event is part of Family Fun Day scheduled for July 4.
